The Master’s in Strategic Leadership toward Sustainability (MSLS) Programme is housed within the Blekinge Institute of Technology, which places the utmost importance on your personal integrity. It is therefore important to us that processing of personal information is done in a correct and safe manner in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. The university follows the general data protection regulation, more commonly known as GDPR.
Blekinge Institute of Technology is responsible for the processing of personal information that takes place within the framework of the university's activities.
You have the right to contact the University if you want to know what information the University has about you, to request correction, transfer or to request limitation of processing, to object to the processing or request deletion of your personal information.
If you have complaints about the University’s processing of your personal information, you have the right to file a complaint with our supervisory authority Datainspektionen.
What personal information do we process and why?
The university only processes your personal information in order to fulfill our mission of education, research, collaboration with the surrounding community, and informing about our activities. We also process personal information to comply with laws and regulations.
The University only processes information about you if you have consented to it or if it is necessary to perform a task that includes exercise of official authority, is of public interest, required by law or agreement.
How do we protect your information?
The university undertakes legal, technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access and other illegal treatment, as well as against loss, destruction or damage. These measures aim at ensuring adequate protection of personal information, considering the risk of processing the information.
Who can access your personal information?
As a basic rule, only the employees at the university who need your personal information at work will access the information. In addition, central administrative staff at the university can access your information if needed, for example, in troubleshooting and support.
A large part of the information available at the university is public information. This means that if your personal information is in a public act, as a basic rule, anyone who requests the document can access your personal information.
The University only shares your personal information if necessary and if you have approved it or we are required to do so by law. When leaving personal information to another party, the university takes appropriate steps to protect your personal information.
Where do we process your personal information?

In some cases, however, the data may be processed outside the EU / EEC, for example, by our partner institutions, research partners or suppliers. Regardless of the country in which the data is processed, the university undertakes measures to protect them in accordance with the requirements of the EU / EEC.
How long do we save your personal information?
We will never save your personal information longer than is necessary with regard to the purpose of the processing and requirements of law or other regulations. Rules on how long the university is required to save different information is among other included in the Archives Act.
